We’ve been hearing a number of rumors about the design of the iPhone 13, but Apple is also hard at work updating its line-up of iPad tablets, including introducing wireless charging.
As Bloomberg reports, an iPad Pro refresh is expected next year with two key changes. The first is a switch from an aluminum to a glass back. The second is the introduction of wireless charging. The two are intrinsically linked, with the glass back enabling wireless charging to work in the same way it has on iPhones.
If you’re in the market for a new iPad this year, Apple is apparently also readying a new iPad mini with a completely new design. The mini hasn’t undergone a redesign for six years, and the current model certainly looks like a classic next to the other iPad models. When PCMag reviewed the latest model back in 2019, the “aging design” was highlighted as one of the few negatives.
Apple will, as usual, not confirm any details regarding new iPad models and features until it is ready to make an official announcement. However, over the past few years the Apple device rumors have usually proved very accurate.
