Gaming, much like movies and TV shows, is quickly becoming a subscription-based form of entertainment. EA doesn’t want to be left out, so it’s dropping the price of EA Play for new members for their first month.
As VG247 reports, the introductory price is just $0.99 and will be available until March 9. EA Play is accessible on consoles and PC, with the service typically costing $4.99 per month or $29.99 for a year (a 50% saving). In return, EA offers instant access to a collection of EA titles, select new-release titles for up to 10 hours, a 10% saving on EA digital purchases, and a number of exclusive member-only rewards.
The one thing to keep in mind is each EA Play account is tied to the platform you signed up with, be that PC, PlayStation, or Xbox. Regardless of the platform chosen, the list of games available to play is robust and includes all the big names you’d expect including Battlefield, Need for Speed, Mass Effect, Mirror’s Edge, and the Star Wars games.
If you want more than the standard EA Play subscription offers, EA Play Pro is $14.99 per month or $99.99 for a year (a 44% discount). Paying more gains you early access to deluxe versions of new games, “pro-level” rewards and content, as well as the 10% discount and full library of games EA Play users enjoy. For now, EA Play Pro is only available on Origin and through the EA Desktop App as it’s classed as a Beta release.
