Nope, it’s no joke. PC gaming maker Razer is now selling tiny sleeves for your fingers.
The product is intended for smartphone gamers looking for a competitive edge. “Woven with high-sensitivity silver fiber for enhanced aim and control, our breathable sleeves keep your fingers deadly cool in the heat of battle, so you’ll always have a grip on the game,” Razer says.
Of course, wearing them means you’ll also look like a ridiculous nerd. The vendor debuted the “Razer Finger Gaming Sleeve” on Tuesday during a RazerStore Live event that showed off some new accessories.
The company designed the product in the event your hands start sweating. The sleeves can absorb the perspiration, so your fingers won’t slip on a smartphone screen as you game.
The sleeves, which are just under 2 inches long and measure 0.8mm thick, promise to work on any smartphone touch screen. The other selling point is how the sleeves can stop fingerprints from appearing on your phone’s display.
“Crafted with nylon and spandex, the stretchy, elastic sleeves adapt to all finger sizes and are compatible with most mobile gaming devices,” the company adds.
The product is certainly different. However, Razer is no stranger to floating radical ideas for new products. The company is currently developing an N95-grade facial mask with RGB lighting that’s scheduled to launch in Q4. During Tuesday’s event, Razer also showed off a pair of gaming glasses for children designed to mitigate blue-light, glare, and eye-strain.
The finger sleeves are available now for $9.99 on Razer.com.
