Only a few weeks remain until The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom makes its debut on Switch consoles, but that long wait won’t be filled with endless hype trailers and teasers. Nintendo debuted a final pre-launch gameplay trailer this week, but if you’re looking for some Hyrule ambience to add to your life, you can leave the main theme for Tears of the Kingdom on an endless loop between now and the middle of May.
The Japanese website for the Breath of the Wild sequel now has the game’s official theme playing on it, and over on Twitter, Actual Aero has extracted that sound and posted it online. It is, what archeologists of ancient Hyrule would call, a certified banger.

Tears of the Kingdom launches on May 12, and after years of keeping a tight lid on the project, Nintendo has slowly revealed more of the game in recent video deep dives. In a previous gameplay video, Zelda series producer Eijo Aonuma showed off several of Link’s new abilities, including his new Fuse power that allows him to wield comically oversized weapons cobbled together from whatever happens to be lying around. This ability allows Link to clobber enemies with tools such as a big stick enhanced with an even bigger rock, or for the ultimate in both defense and offense, he can fuse a shield to a sword.
Link can also create vehicles from ancient technology left lying around, and while exploring, he’ll be able to pass through ceilings to get a vertical advantage. The new trailer also revealed Ganondorf’s new look, and for the sequel, he’ll be voiced by Critical Role’s Matthew Mercer. And in case you were wondering, Ganondorf is pretty tall, but he still looks up to Lady Dimitrescu, according to GameSpot’s exhaustive research.
