Preloads for the upcoming Star Wars Jedi Survivor are up on Xbox, and the game clocks in rather massively on Xbox Series X.
The highly-anticipated sequel to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is releasing by the end of this month, and those who’ve pre-ordered the game title digitally can now start preloading the game on Xbox consoles. Those on Xbox Series X, however, might want to free up some precious space as Respawn Entertainment’s sequel weighs in with a whooping 139GB on Microsoft’s topline console. This is even larger than the already monstrous Call of Duty games on Xbox, and easily among the largest Xbox Series X games when it comes to file sizes.
The Xbox Series S version appears to be a totally different story as this version clocks in at only 44GB – a third of its Xbox Series X counterpart.
The file size on PlayStation 5 hasn’t been revealed just yet, but on Twitter, ‘PlayStation Game Size’ appears to suggest that the game might be among the largest, if not THE largest PS5 game so far. We’ll update you as soon as the PS5 size of the sequel comes in.

“You can definitely play Star Wars Jedi: Survivor without having played Fallen Order or ever really experiencing any Star Wars games”, senior producer Blair Brown replied when asked whether players are better off first playing Fallen Order before Jedi Survivor. “But I think, yeah, you will understand a lot more of Cal’s motivations if you played the previous title. But we made it a point when we were developing the game that this could be a jumping-off point for new people. The band has been broken up from the last game, and you’re re-meeting these characters. For new players, it will be like, oh, who’s this fuzzy little four-armed guy? While Fallen Order players will be like, oh my God, here’s Greez; what has he been up to? And I think they’ll both get something out of it.”
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches globally on April 28 for PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5. Stay tuned for our review of this exciting sequel.
