You’ll meet many characters in Baldur’s Gate 3. Some are there to help your party, while others serve as a thorn on your side. Two of them, Zevlor and Zariel’s Asset, are part of quests that might cause you to continue looking for them to no avail. Thankfully, we’ve got our guide here that discusses where you can find Zevlor and Zariel’s Asset in Baldur’s Gate 3. Likewise, please be reminded that this article contains spoilers.
Where to Find Zevlor and Zariel’s Asset in Baldur’s Gate 3
The Baldur’s Gate 3 Find Zevlor and Zariel’s Asset quests can be completed in the Mind Flayer Colony. The area itself becomes accessible after you’ve defeated Ketheric Thorm for the first time in Moonrise Towers.
Unfortunately, the game isn’t quite clear when it comes to instructions. In fact, the wording in both quest logs imply that they’re in Moonrise Towers itself, which could make you lose a lot of time if you keep searching for them in the vicinity.
Zevlor’s Location
To find Zevlor in Baldur’s Gate 3, you need to jump down the tower opening after Ketheric Thorm makes his escape. This takes you to the Mind Flayer Colony, a mini-dungeon which prevents you from fast traveling to your camp. As such, make sure you’ve got a decent party composition beforehand.
In any case, as you explore the area, you’ll see a large chamber with several pods, some of which have Mind Flayers. There’s also a control panel nearby. Here are the choices:
- Purge – This will kill everyone in the pods, including Zevlor and other imprisoned NPCs.
- Release – Everyone will emerge from the pods. You have to fight four Mind Flayers, though Zevlor and the other NPCs will assist you.
After the battle, talk to Zevlor so you learn of the events that transpired. It seems that the Tieflings will no longer welcome him back, and he has to forge his own path.
Zariel’s Asset Location
As for the Baldur’s Gate 3 Zariel’s Asset objective, your quarry is located in the next room. There, you’ll see a brine pool, which has a chance of rewarding another Mind Flayer Parasite Specimen. The pod also happens to contain Mizora, the devil who doesn’t want to release Wyll from his pact. It seems that she was the one who was trapped here, and you were only talking to a projection earlier in the campaign.
Anyway, these are your options:
- You can decide what happens to Wyll’s pact with Mizora:
- The History and Performance checks only offer additional fluff.
- If you pick Intimidation, Mizora leads you to believe that she’ll let will go, though only after six months have passed.
- As for releasing Mizora:
- Choose the Strength check or “unleash” option to free her.
- If you pick the “annihilate” option, Mizora will die, and she’ll drag Wyll to the hells of Avernus. Most companions, especially Karlach, will not be pleased, and they’ll blame you for your mistake.
Zevlor’s Fate
Early in Act 3, we experienced a cutscene where Orin the Red sent her regards. It was none other than Zevlor, maimed and tortured until he bled to death. To clarify, this outcome was from a save where we ignored the pod area (i.e. we neither released nor purged the people in the pods). We can’t confirm if Zevlor meets a nicer fate if you do rescue him.
That’s it: that’s all you need to know about where to find Zevlor and Zariel’s Asset in Baldur’s Gate 3. Now, all that’s left is to put down Ketheric Thorm to conclude the game’s second act.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is filled to the brim with activities and secrets. You’ll no doubt be part of an adventure that can take countless hours to complete. For other tips, you can visit our BG3 guides hub.
