The team at Hexworks is hard at work on improving its souls-like, and today the studio has rolled out Lords of the Fallen patch 1.1.224, enabling crossplay on consoles, and more.
Numerous patches have been released since the launch of the game earlier this month, and it’s clear that the team intends to fix what’s broken. In a new blog post, Hexworks has shared the release notes for today’s update, and has also shortly detailed the next patch, which is planned to be released this Thursday.
Today’s patch for the game includes changes to New Game + mode, allowing players to restart with their current character level in the same world. Additional updates to this mode are coming with this week’s new patch. “A further patch this coming Thursday will see further updates made to the NG+ mode; instead of removing all vestiges (as it does currently), NG+1 will only see a few disappear while keeping the key locations intact”, the team writes. “In NG+2, a few more will disappear, and then in NG+3 all but the main HUB (Skyrest Bridge) and Adyr’s Shrine vestige will disappear. This way, our initial vision remains intact but is more of a gradual adaptation, awaiting those who seek increasing levels of challenge.”
In addition, enemy density has been improved, which should result in less overwhelming crowds of enemies. According to the developers, further improvements to enemy density are planned to be included in Thursday’s update for the game.
Today’s 1.1.224 patch has enabled crossplay between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms, and crossplay with PC is expected to arrive this Thursday. Also included with today’s update are further improvements to performance and stability. “Our constant efforts for improved GPU stability are paying off, and we see that right now, the numbers have been reduced drastically from launch, to less than one-third of what they were day one, yet still affecting 4% of our players each hour”, Hexworks writes.
More stability and performance improvements are said to be rolled out between today and Thursday.
Lords of the Fallen is available globally now for PC, Xbox Series, and PS5.
