Rockstar is said to officially announce the highly-anticipated GTA 6 as early as this week, Bloomberg reports.
Sources familiar with Rockstar’s plans also claim that Take-Two and Rockstar are expected to release a trailer for the game next month. According to Bloomberg, Rockstar hasn’t yet commented on these rumors. No further details were shared about Rockstar’s plans for the title. If Bloomberg’s sources prove to be true, it’s possible that Take-Two and Rockstar plan to debut a trailer for the game during The Game Awards 2023 early next month.
GTA 6, for many of the most anticipated (if not THE) upcoming games, has been mentioned by Take-Two during earning calls with investors, and analysts have suggested that the game could arrive no later than March 2025. Last year, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said that GTA 6 will set a new benchmark for the franchise. “With development of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series well underway, the Rockstar Games team is determined to once again set creative benchmarks for the series, our industry, and for all entertainment, just as the label has done with every one of their frontline releases,” Zelnick told investors in 2022.
As covered recently, a recently filed patent suggests that Grand Theft Auto VI will offer more diverse and lifelike animations than previous entries in the series. Also, a supposed leaked debug menu for the game could have revealed that the title includes more advanced AI for NPCs, a factions system, dynamic environments, and more.
We’ll update you as soon as more information about GTA 6 comes in. Rockstar released GTA V for PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2013. A year later, the game was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, followed by a PC version in 2015. Recently, Rockstar and Take-Two released next-gen versions of the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
