Stardew Valley update 1.6 has turned out to be bigger in scope than initially planned, but will most certainly be released later this year.
We already wrote about this upcoming free content update for the popular farming sim, and according to the creator of the game, this update will be highly appreciated by modders. Back in July of last year, it was revealed that the new 1.6 update would add new items alongside “secrets”, a new festival, and more. So when can fans expect this new patch to arrive on their favorite platform? On X, the game’s creator has now posted a message revealing that the update is currently in the bug-fixing and polishing phase. In addition, ‘ConcernedApe’ revealed that the patch will “absolutely” be released in 2024.
“1.6 ended up being a little larger in scope than originally planned”, ” ‘ConcernedApe’ wrote on X recently. “I’m done adding major new content to it now, though, and it’s in a bug-fixing and polishing phase until it’s ready for release. Thx for your patience. It’ll be fun to see everyone play it.”

Asked whether the patch will be released on all platforms simultaneously, the Stardew Valley creator said that it will likely arrive on PC first although he doesn’t want a big delay between the different platforms.
It will likely come to PC first, but I really really don’t want a big delay between PC and console/mobile. That was a nightmare in the past

‘ConcernedApe’ also answered a question about the size of the update compared to the 1.5 update, which added a new world area to the game. “Hard to compare, because 1.5 was all about a big NEW area, whereas 1.6 is about adding more to the old stuff in the game, with a lot of little things”, he wrote on X/ Twitter.
We’ll update you as soon as we learn more about the upcoming free content update for Stardew Valley.
