Deadpool and Wolverine is only a month away, and as previous teases of the film have suggested, the lethal duo are going to have their hands full taking on enemies from across the multiverse. A new teaser for the Deadpool threequel has gone live, teasing a fight more than 20 years in the making as Logan comes face to face with one of his greatest foes, Sabretooth. Once again portrayed by Tyler Mane–who played the first incarnation of the mutant in 2000’s X-Men–Sabretooth is sporting his trademark claws, tattered clothing, and ridiculously bushy eyebrows.
Sabretooth would be recast for 2008’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with Ray Donovan actor Liev Schrieber playing Logan’s half-brother in the prequel. Like Wolverine, Sabretooth has an advanced healing factor that allows him to quickly bounce back from most injuries and acute senses. While he doesn’t have adamantium bonded to his skeleton, his claws are razor-sharp and he’s more bloodthirsty than Logan.
A few other X-Men characters have been spotted in other teasers for Deadpool and Wolverine, including Aaron Stanford reprising his X3 role as Pyro and Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, the twin sister of X-Men founder Charles Xavier. Lady Deathstrike and Azazel have also been spotted in brief clips.
Deadpool and Wolverine will hit theaters on July 26, and in case you don’t mind some slight spoilers, more details about where things stand after the events of Deadpool 2 have been revealed. If the film performs well and another Deadpool movie is greenlit, director Shawn Levy would love to see Deadpool and Spider-Man team up on the big screen.
