The PlayStation 5 Pro codename Trinity was discovered in No Man’s Sky’s latest update, along with details on the graphics improvements the game will feature when running on the yet-to-be-announced hardware refresh.
As reported by ThatBomberBoi, the new update for the popular game features a graphics preset for Trinity, the PlayStation 5 Pro codename, which is yet another sort of confirmation that the system is coming despite not having been revealed yet. As for the improvements No Man’s Sky will sport when running on the system, it seems like there won’t be any major improvement outside of less aggressive dynamic resolution scaling over the base PlayStation 5, better water effects, and very little else. The game, however, as ThatBomberBoi noted, could internally use the system’s resources better, so there could still be some improvements beyond those revealed by the datamined Trinity preset.
Alongside providing more proof that the PlayStation 5 Pro is real, the new No Man’s Sky update made the game reach another milestone. Following the release of Worlds Part I, the game reached its highest number of concurrent players on Steam, which shot to 48,821 yesterday, July 21st. Not too surprising, considering how much the game was improved by the update.
The PlayStation 5 Pro has yet to be officially unveiled, but it is said to be still on track for a 2024 release. We will let you know more about the rumored system as soon as more information becomes available, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
