Esports and games company ESL FACEIT have penned a multi-year partnership to become the official operating partner of the Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
ESL FACEIT will manage tournament operations and broadcast programming, uniting games, sports, and entertainment audiences in a global celebration of competition.
The Cologne-based company will also collaborate with the Esports World Cup on its product proposition and global marketing strategy.
A historic step forward
“The Esports World Cup is delivering premier competition at a scale never seen before, giving 3.4 billion video game fans around the globe a true spectacle, providing players with life-changing prize money and crowning the first Club Champion,” said Esports World Cup foundation CEO Ralf Reichert.
ESL FACEIT Co-CEO Craig Levine added: “Esports World Cup is one of the most ambitious new global sports events to ever take place. As we approach the end of this life-changing tournament, we’re already looking forward to continuing to shape the future of sports fandom and entertainment powered by esports and gaming for years to come.”
Held from Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 to Sunday, August 25th 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Esports World Cup features 22 game championships where fans can watch players and clubs compete for a share of over $60 million, the largest prize pool in esports history.
