While this doesn’t sound like much information at all to many people, and this rumor is quite vague in the grand scheme of things, Ignus also said that Resident Evil 9 can be expected to be released in the second half of 2025. This comes after a previous rumor said that Resident Evil 9’s release has been delayed to late 2025, which adds more fuel to the rumor fire.
There are a couple of major events coming up in the next couple of months that could all be possible times for Resident Evil 9 to be announced. The rumored PlayStation State of Play will be held on September 24, followed by the Tokyo Game Show 2024 on September 26. On December 12, the Game Awards will be held, which is often home to some major release announcements.
The announcement window would be consistent with previous release patterns for Capcom, as they have consistently announced the games a year in advance.
