Indian esports company EsportsXO has partnered with Abu Dhabi Gaming to expand into the MENA region.
The strategic partnership will allow XO to open its regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The office will focus on growing regional esports programs and forming partnerships with publishers.
Both parties expect the partnership to create new job opportunities and contribute to local talent development over the next five years. It also aligns with Abu Dhabi’s efforts to become a global gaming hub.
Headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, XO was established in 2020. The company provides SaaS solutions for online esports tournament management and has raised $1.4m in three years, generating over $4.3 million in revenue.
Shaping the future of games in MENA
“Working with Abu Dhabi Gaming is a major step for XO as we look to expand our presence in one of the world’s most exciting gaming regions,” said EsportsXO founder Vikas Goel.
“We are eager to contribute to the development of the local gaming ecosystem, nurture homegrown talent, and bring world-class gaming experiences to the MENA region. This reinforces our commitment to expanding our global footprint while fostering meaningful connections with gamers and industry leaders across the region.”
Abu Dhabi Gaming director Marcos Muller-Habig added: “We are excited to welcome XO to the Abu Dhabi Gaming ecosystem. Their expertise in esports tournaments and community building will play a crucial role in elevating Abu Dhabi’s position as a global gaming hub.
“Together, we aim to shape the future of gaming in MENA, while providing the platform for local and global talent to achieve the goal of enhancing the growth of Abu Dhabi Gaming’s ecosystem.”
Elsewhere, game-focused VC fund Beam Ventures is also launching in Abu Dhabi with $150m to support game studios. It will offer an accelerator program for early-stage web3 gaming and AI startups, both in-person and remotely.
