Today, THQ Nordic has released the first making-of video for the highly anticipated Gothic 1 Remake. The video has the title “Chapter 1: The Essence of Gothic” and provides a behind-the-scenes look at the development of Gothic and how Alkimia Interactive is working to reimagine the cult classic. In the video, you will see insights from some of the key team members. This includes Reinhard Pollice (Head of Studio & Game Director), Kai Rosenkranz (Music Composer & Sound Designer), and Daniel Candil (Studio Art Director), where they go into detail about their dedication to making a faithful remake of Gothic and the vision they have as a team for this game.
For the first chapter of these dev diaries, the video goes into depth about the creative process behind the remake, where you’ll get to see how the team decides to balance making a faithful remake but also making sure that the game is playable for a modern audience. This includes updating graphics and music and also keeping the story in line with what a modern audience would want.
In the video, the audience will get to see glimpses of some of the most well-known locations from the original Gothic title, as well as being walked through some updated sequences that will appear in the remake.
