A PlayStation 5 Dev Kit Was Sold for $6000 Disguised as A “PizzaStation”

A PlayStation 5 dev kit was sold online for a rather high price, and the seller had to be clever to avoid having it delisted by Sony.

As reported by Consolevariations on X/Twitter, a dev kit was recently sold for the whopping price of $6000. To avoid the item from getting delisted, the seller disguised the system as a PizzaStation 5 development kit, making fun of its V-shaped design, which was also picked on by many when the first images of the dev kit surfaced online in 2019.

Despite being available only for developers, multiple PlayStation 5 dev kits have made it into the hands of regular users. Back in 2022, we also got a good look at the dev kit’s unique features, which are obviously not available on the retail system.

Considering how many looks we have had at the PlayStation 5 dev kit, it wouldn’t be surprising to get more than a few of them at the PS5 Pro dev kit. The mid-generation hardware refresh from Sony, which will come with enhanced specs, better ray tracing performance, and support for the Playstation Spectral Super Resolution upscaler, is said to be released between the end of 2024 and the first few months of 2025. With rumors abound of a PlayStation Showcase planned for September, it is very likely we will finally learn more about the system in the near future.
