OnePlus’ first active noise cancelling wireless earbuds land on Sept. 1 for $149.
The OnePlus Buds Pro enter a crowded market, but the company is betting that its existing customers will pay up to own the upcoming headphones.
“These new true wireless earbuds combine premium audio quality, the features you already know and love, and one of the most requested features by our Community—Active Noise Cancellation,” the company wrote in a Thursday forum post.
The ANC is also smart enough to automatically adjust depending on the ambient noise around you. OnePlus says the active-noise cancellation can switch between three different modes ranging from 25 decibels of noise cancellation to up to 40 decibels.
The headphones also promise to offer “crystal-clear” phone calls with the help of AI-powered algorithms that can remove the wind and background noise. “Two 11mm large dynamic drivers tuned for bass reproduction and Dolby Atmos support on the OnePlus Buds Pros give you a superior and theater-like sound, equivalent to spatial audio,” the company added.
On the battery front, the earbuds can supply 5 hours of music listening on a single charge when the ANC is turned on, and 7 hours when turned off.
When used with the portable charging case, the battery life can be extended to 28 hours if ANC is enabled, and up to 38 hours of battery life when turned off. Each earbud also has silicon tips, which come in three sizes, just like the AirPods Pro.
Other features include Bluetooth 5.2, an IP55 rating for some water and sweat resistance, and support for OnePlus’ Warp charging standard over the case’s USB-C port. In addition, you can wirelessly charge up the battery case, which is Qi-certified.
The company plans on first selling the earbuds in Europe on Aug. 25 before releasing them in North America on Sept. 1. They will be available in two colors: matte black and glossy white. Check out the company’s dedicated page for the OnePlus Buds Pro for more information.
