Alan Wake 2 will fully utilize the PlayStation 5 Pro hardware to enhance the experience further and finally offer a ray tracing option on console.
The game’s Quality and Performance modes in the game are both improved on the PS5 Pro, taking full advantage of the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution upscaler to deliver better visuals and performance. Quality mode will offer 30 FPS gameplay with ray tracing and ray-traced reflections (opaque and transparent) with an internal resolution of 2176 x 1224 upscaled to 4K.
Performance mode, on the other hand, will sport significantly higher output resolution and more visual detail compared to the base PS5, offering better image stability, fog, volumetric lighting, and shadow accuracy. In this display mode, Alan Wake 2 will run at 60 frames per second with an internal resolution of 1536 x 864 upscaled to 4K, a much higher output than the base model’s 1440p.
