Alan Wake 2 was one of the many announcements in Sony’s packed PlayStation Showcase this week. The new trailer revealed gameplay and new details about the upcoming survival horror title, and confirmed the game is releasing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 17. Preorders are already available for both platforms–but there’s a catch.
Following the PlayStation Showcase, developer Remedy Entertainment confirmed the game was digital only on all platforms. There are no physical versions of Alan Wake 2 planned.
However, there are still multiple versions of the game to pick from and preorder bonuses up for grabs. Let’s go over all the versions of Alan Wake 2, and where to preorder.
Alan Wake II preorder bonuses
Preordering either version of Alan Wake 2 on PS5, Xbox, or PC will grant you a couple of in-game bonuses, including an “ornate revolver skin” usable by Alan and a Survival Resources Pack usable with the game’s other playable character, Saga.

The Alan Wake II standard edition comes includes a digital copy of the game, plus the preorder bonuses listed above if you buy the game ahead of time. It’s available for $60 on the PlayStation and Microsoft Stores, and $50 on PC via the Epic Games Store.
