Fortnite has taken off on a massive scale, and they are constantly adding new content to the game to keep it fresh and appealing for new and returning players. This includes adding new experiences to the Fortnite universe, such as LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Fortnite Festival, and a ton of User-Created Content (including Kamala Harris’ new Fortnite experience.) This makes the game more accessible and easier to grind. All passes in Fortnite will progress simultaneously by earning XP from playing any experience. This massive change will be coming on December 1.
Currently, only the Battle Royale Battle Pass levels up from XP gained in any experience. However, the team will be rolling out the update to include the upcoming Music Pass, which was previously known as the Festival Pass. The Music Pass will be able to level up this way as of November 2, with the change affecting remaining passes and future passes as of December 1.
Much like the current Battle Pass, the Music and LEGO passes released after December 1 will instead change to having just one track, which includes both free and premium rewards. This helps simplify the battle passes significantly. Additionally, to further simplify the process, they are also retiring Festival Points on November 2, which will be followed by Battle Stars and Studs on December 1. This is to simplify the process of earning your passes, and the rewards will instead just be unlocked via earning XP.
Of course, if you want to access the rewards in the Battle Pass, Music Pass, or LEGO Pass, you’ll have to purchase them separately to get the premium rewards. However, you will still be able to access the free rewards with no issue.
Fortnite has gained a lot of popularity over the years, but it’s now taking off in a somewhat peculiar way, too. It isn’t all too surprising that Harris has decided to do this, as we’ve seen them join Twitch in recent days to talk about politics while playing games, with Tim Walz streaming with AOC and playing the Dreamcast version of Crazy Taxi.
Make sure to keep an eye on your Battle Pass progress so that you aren’t missing out on any rewards you may get as they slowly swap over to an XP progress system for all Battle Passes in Fortnite.
