One of our incredible speakers is Alla Tytarenko, the head of marketing and communications for data experts, devtodev.
We spoke with Tytarenko to learn more about the importance of a unified and shared approach to using data.
PocketGamer.biz: Please introduce yourself and tell us a little about your work at devtodev.
Alla Tytarenko: Spending years in gamedev and product analytics, I’ve helped teams turn complex data into actionable insights to make smarter decisions and unlock growth opportunities.
With devtodev, I work to break down data silos, align metrics, and make data accessible for better collaboration and decision-making. I’m is passionate about using analytics to optimise user journeys and drive meaningful product impact.
What will you be presenting at PGC London?
Breaking Silos: Data Democracy to Maximise Teams’ Effort: This talk will focus on how to break out of data isolation, foster a culture of shared data understanding between departments, and ensure the product thrives through better collaboration and alignment.
Often, teams working on the same product find themselves speaking different data languages. While they debate why the numbers don’t align and which data they need, valuable time that could be spent making decisions and driving progress is lost.
If you could give other mobile games companies one piece of advice, what would it be?
My advice comes straight from my talk at PGC: break down data silos and foster a shared data culture within your teams. A unified approach to data isn’t just operationally efficient – it’s a catalyst for your product’s success. It enables your team to adapt quickly, identify opportunities faster, and remain competitive in an ever-evolving industry.
“Poor data leads to poor decisions, costing studios time, money, and opportunities.”
Alla Tytarenko
If this resonates with you, I’d love to share more actionable insights. Join my session on January 21st at PGC to dive deeper into building a shared data culture and see real-world examples of how it can transform your studio. See you there!
What is the single biggest challenge facing the mobile games industry today?
Data quality is one of the industry’s biggest challenges. With data coming from so many tools, platforms, and fragmented sources, maintaining accuracy, consistency, and usability has become increasingly difficult.
Poor data leads to poor decisions, costing studios time, money, and opportunities. At devtodev, we address this challenge by providing a unified platform that collects and consolidates data from multiple sources.
By doing this, studios can trust their data, compare it across different channels, and make better-informed decisions. Having all your data in one place – organised, reliable, and actionable – empowers teams to focus less on wrangling data and more on creating amazing games.
What key trend should we be paying attention to in the next 12 months?
Hybrid monetisation is emerging as a pivotal trend. By blending ads, in-app purchases, and subscription models, studios can diversify revenue streams and appeal to a broader range of player preferences.
The challenge is maintaining a balance that feels natural and non-intrusive, especially as players grow more critical of aggressive monetisation tactics.
Hybrid models offer a sustainable way forward, and at devtodev, we’re already equipping studios with tools to track all revenue sources – ads, in-app purchases, subscriptions – on a single platform, while using AI to forecast long-term LTV.
What do you enjoy most about working in the mobile games industry?
What I love most about this industry is the synergy between creativity, technology, and data. It’s a unique space where artists, engineers, and analysts collaborate to create experiences that resonate with millions of people.
The most rewarding part for me is seeing how our work contributes to moments of joy – whether it’s a player’s daily escape, a shared experience with friends, or a cherished memory. Knowing that our efforts help bring those experiences to life is what makes this industry so inspiring and fulfilling.
