The top 100 most valuable global brands in the world are worth over $7 trillion, and the top 10 brands are a testament to just how important technology has become to consumers around the world.
As Reuters reports, the latest global ranking report released by Kantar’s Brandz shows that the value of the top 100 brands grew by a staggering 42% in 2021. Kantar says the huge growth is a reflection of “an impressive rebound from the economic toll of the global pandemic.” It’s also likely you can guess many of the brands included in the top 10, but in what order do they appear?
The top 10 according to Kantar are as follows:
- Amazon
- Apple
- Microsoft
- Tencent
- Alibaba
- Visa
- McDonald’s
- Mastercard
Amazon was already in the top spot, but has grown its value by 64% to $684 billion. Apple may be in second position, but its growth of 74% beat Amazon’s, suggesting it could perhaps surpass Jeff Bezos’ company in the near future. There were also 13 new entrants on the list, with the most notable ones being Nvidia (12), Texas Instruments (35), Qualcomm (37), Zoom (52), AMD (57), and Spotify (99). And the fastest growing brand? That easily goes to Tesla, which currently sits at position 47, but had its value rise by 275%.
The list also reveals that Chinese brands are growing in importance. As well as two Chinese companies appearing in the top 10, the fastest growing brands behind Tesla are TikTok (158%), Pinduoduo (131%), Meituan (119%), and Moutai (103%). This huge growth suggests we could be looking at a very different top 100 list in 2022.
