Video games developer Amplitude Studios is once again an independent studio.
After eight years under SEGA, Amplitude will be returned to some of the studio’s original founders and team members.
The studio took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the news. It noted that it wishes to maintain the creative vision of its games and says, “We part on good terms and wish our friends at SEGA the best for all their future projects.”
Looking ahead
“This decision allows us to be more agile in our approach while continuing to shape the vision that has been ours from the very beginning, empowering us to push boundaries and be closer as ever to our community,” said Amplitude Studios founder Romain de Waubert de Genlis.
“With our extensive experiences in strategy game development and two exciting titles currently in progress, we are confident in our ability to deliver outstanding experience to players.”
The team emphasised the importance of their community in shaping their games and announced that a new Humankind patch is coming soon, with more details to be shared next week.
