Another Code: Recollection is the new Switch remake of the Nintendo-published DS and Wii cult-classic story-driven adventure games Another Code: Two Memories (known as Trace Memory in North America) and Another Code: R – A Journey into Lost Memories. Beyond the expected visual updates, Another Code: Recollection also completely remixes the games’ puzzles, meaning even those familiar with the originals will find themselves on new ground.
Following your collection of the first, second, and third Another Keys, and a few more story developments, you’ll find yourself separated from D who shuts himself in a room locked by a silver Sprout Key. But where does one get this key? A clue points toward the key being in the fountain in the mansion’s central courtyard, but simply picking the key out of the fountain won’t be that easy. Here’s what you have to do to get that key…
Note: While our Another Code: Recollection guides stay away from specific story details, they may still contain some SPOILERS. Proceed accordingly.
- Step 1 – The key is in this fountain, but the water is too dirty to see anything. You have to flush the dirty water out, but to do that, you need to build up enough water pressure (classic adventure game logic).

- Step 2 – Okay, to build up the water pressure, you need to actually turn the water on using this valve tucked away in the northwest corner of the courtyard. This will cause of number of sprinklers to start spraying around the courtyard. Your goal is to stop these sprinklers, thus directing the water pressure toward the fountain instead.

- Step 3 – First, look just to the right of the main valve. You’ll find a sprinkler with a handle on it. Use this to turn off the sprinkler.

- Step 4 – There is another sprinkler with a handle on the opposite north-east section of the courtyard.

- Step 5 – Okay, now you need to look for various “switching devices” – these are essentially the same as the sprinklers with handles. Interact with them, and they’ll turn some of the sprinklers off. The first one is beside the stairs leading to the locked door on the north side of the courtyard.

- Step 6 – The next is on the east side of the courtyard tucked beside another door.

- Step 7 – The final switching device is in the southeast corner of the courtyard.

- Step 8 – Now there should be enough water pressure. You can now turn the switch on the water pressure valve and clean out the fountain. But where’s the key? It’s laying on top of the goat symbol in the fountain.
And there you go, the second Sprout Key has been acquired. Now you can go check up on what D is up to.
