Is your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro experiencing sound issues? It may qualify for a free Apple repair program
Apple explains in a support document: “If your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro does not emit sound from the receiver when you make or receive calls, it may be eligible for service.”
According to Apple, a “very small percentage” of the iPhone 12 generation “may experience sound issues due to a component that might fail on the receiver module”.
The issue may affect iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models that were produced between October 2020 and April 2021.
As a result, Apple has launched a free repair program for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro – for a specific problem.
Apple states that if your iPhone is affected by this issue, and is a qualifying device, you will be able to take it to Apple or an authorized Apple Service Producer to have it repaired free of charge.
The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max are not included in this repair program.
If you are experiencing sound problems with your iPhone 12 or 12 Pro, you should take note of the following:
- The device may only be repairable in the country/region in which it was purchased.
- This will not extend the standard warranty cover of the iPhone 12 or Pro.
- The program is valid for two years after the device was initially purchased.
