Apple may soon implement AI-generated summaries of app reviews in the App Store following the release of iOS 18.1.
As reported by 9to5mac, Apple’s upcoming AI-generated review summaries will appear alongside app descriptions and screenshots on the App Store’s main pages.
Apple’s iOS 18.1 introduced Apple Intelligence for summarising emails, messages, and notifications. These app review summaries will highlight common user feedback that will be generated when an app has enough reviews.
Limited launch
The AI-generated app review summaries will be available only in select countries, though the specific regions are not yet known.
These summaries aim to help users better assess apps before downloading or purchasing. They will be updated with each new review, and developers can also report any inaccuracies in the summaries.
“An app may have a summary that highlights the most common customer feedback and sentiment in user reviews about the app,” Apple said to developers. “The summaries are refreshed as new reviews are added.”
“Summaries are available in select countries and regions and for apps with enough reviews to provide a summary. They appear on the app’s product page. If the summary is inaccurate or has another issue, you can report a problem.”
Meanwhile, the iPhone maker is also working on a new games hub for iOS, which it plans to dedicate specifically to games.
