Independent app store Aptoide has rebranded its Catappult distribution service to Aptoide Connect.
The service is designed to help developers reach multiple global stores with a single build and one SDK integration.
Aptoide is one of the latest companies looking to take advantage of new laws and regulations across the globe, such as the European Union’s Digital Markets Act, gradually clamping down on the walled gardens of the App Store and Google Play.
Providing clarity
“Aptoide Connect is a critical part of our distribution ecosystem for game and app developers,” said Aptoide CEO and co-founder Paulo Trezentos. “With minimal effort, they can bring their games to hundreds of millions of new users not just in Aptoide’s stores, but partner platforms with significant audiences.
“By bringing Aptoide Connect under the consistent Aptoide brand, we’re providing greater clarity for developers and emphasising that Aptoide is a complete ecosystem for their distribution needs.”
Earlier this year, Aptoide launched its first non-Apple game store on iOS in June to bring games and gamification features to iOS. The store includes a non-Apple in-app purchase (IAP) solution, with an approved IAP SDK offering new opportunities for developers.
