Arkane Lyon’s upcoming Marvel’s Blade game is said to be using the same game engine as Deathloop and Dishonored 2.
As spotted by X user ‘Faizan Shakih’, a Senior Lighting Artist at Arkane Lyon has mentioned that the upcoming Blade game will be using Arkane’s Void engine – the same engine that was used for Deathloop, Dishonored 2 and Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. As some of you will know, this engine is based on the id Software’s ‘id Tech 6’ engine. Interestingly enough, at the moment of writing, the reference to Blade and the Void Engine has been removed from the artist’s ArtStation resume. We’ve included the post on X with a screenshot of the artist’s resume mentioning Blade and Arkane’s engine below:

Going by the footage that was shown for Blade, we already speculated that the title would use Arkane’s own game engine, but we’re pretty sure that fans will appreciate this piece of additional ‘information’.
Marvel’s Blade from Arkane Lyon was officially unveiled during The Game Awards earlier this month. The title will be in third-person with an M-rating. Here’s what game director Dinga Bakaba had this to say about the game: ““After Dishonored and Deathloop, our first order of business was to make another very Arkane game, but with a title that’s easier to say in a French accent”, he said during The Game Awards. “And when we had an opportunity to chat with Marvel, we said, ‘Okay, let’s really challenge them.’ Let’s present the wildest take on a superhero we both love.”
As covered last week, the game might very well be an Xbox exclusive title as the game’s announcement trailer was quickly uploaded on the official Xbox YouTube channel, complete with the iconic Xbox splash screen at the end. Some days ago, Arkane shared some additional official concept art for its upcoming game. Be sure to check out this cool-looking art here.
A release date for Blade has yet to be revealed. We’ll update you as soon as more information on the game comes in.
