A new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla update will go live today on PC and consoles, addressing various technical and gameplay issues.
The 1.7.0 update, as confirmed on the game’s official website, will go live later today at [time] on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One. The update’s size will be different depending on the format, ranging from the 500 MB of the PlayStation 5 update to the 15.1 GB of the Xbox Series X|S update.

As mentioned above, the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla 1.7.0 update addresses a variety of issues regarding the World, Armor and Inventory, and more. The full patch notes for all formats can be found right below.
WORLD
Addressed:
- Resolved most of the rare instances where Light-Fingered skill prevented the pickup of key items.
- Eivor’s hair can clip through the hood after completing an Animus Anomaly.
ARMORY & INVENTORY
Addressed:
- Previously purchased items are missing from player inventory.
- The Raven Clan Crew outfit cannot be enhanced or upgraded to a higher quality.
- The total number of Opals in the inventory doesn’t update when picking up an Opal in the world.
MISCELLANEOUS
Addressed:
- Resolved the error that occurs when trying to claim the Weekly Free Item.
- Gear packs still appear in the store when the content of the pack is already owned.
- Items incorrectly appear as owned in some situations.
- Korean language cannot be applied via Steam Language tab.
- It is possible to lose Helix Credits when purchasing the Twilight Set if 5/5 pieces of gear are already owned.
- Issues with pricing of Helix Store items when redeeming pieces of a full set.
- On Xbox, when buying Helix Credits through the store, they are not correctly added to the player inventory.
- In-game pop-ups no longer appear for Shared History and The Last Chapter when launching into the game.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a definite step up for the series, thanks to the many tweaks made to the RPG mechanics that powered the previous two entries in the series, better storytelling, great atmosphere, and meaningful side-content. Even with the tweaks, however, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is still an Assassin’s Creed game at heart, so those who are not into the Ubisoft open-world game design will hardly change their opinion with the game. Everyone else will probably love every second of Eivor’s adventure, especially if they are into Vikings and ancient Norse culture.
