Gamemax is a new player in the PC DIY market that has started offering a range of products including PC cases, power supplies, monitors, cooling components, & peripherals. They have a selection of products to meet the demands of all types of gamers and gamers are the primary market. Today, we will be testing one of our first GAMEMAX products, the GX-1050 PRO, which comes as a top-of-the-line PSU with certifications for the latest standards.
GAMEMAX GX-1050 PRO White 1050W 80+ Platinum PSU Specifications
The GAMEMAX GX PRO series is designed for the high-end PC market while offering support for the latest standards such as ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1. The PSUs come in two flavors, a 1050W design and a 1250W design. GAMEMAX’s GX PSU lineup also features both black and white color designs allowing users more choice when selecting a PSU for their builds. These PSUs also carry a fully modular design.
Coming to the specifications, the GAMEMAX GX-1050 PRO 1050W unit we got offers a maximum DC output of 1050 watts with an active PFC. It’s an 80 PLUS Platinum unit with efficiency rated at up to 92% at 50% load and over 90% at 100% load (240V). The PSU is fully compliant with Intel’s C6 & C7 power states and has an operating temp of 0-40C and also adopts Nichicon capacitors with up to 105C temperature thresholds. The PSU is fully compliant with the latest ATX 3.1, EPS 12V (V2.92) standards.

The unit we received comes in a large package with a green and white color scheme which is used by GAMEMAX across all its products. The front also lists several features such as the power rating, the ATX 3.1 Certification, and PCIe 5.1 Ready.
The backside also offers a list of features which we have detailed above and we will get to more details below.
Within the package, the PSU unit is held between foam packaging to protect it during shipping while the cables are jammed next to it.
The PSU comes with a manual and four screws. There are also four screws supplied with the PSU for installation within your casing.
The PSU itself is packaged in plastic wrap.
Out of the package, the GAMEMAX GX-1050 PRO comes with a nice white look. They are compact in design which is great for users whose PCs can’t support the extended ATX designs that some of the higher power rated PSUs adopt.
On the back, you can see the power plug, the power switch, and a large mesh panel that acts as an exhaust vent.
Now depending on how you use the PSU, the bottom panel reads the specifications and power ratings. The PSU is rated to output a maximum of 87.5A and 1050W through the 12V rails.
The sides of the PSU have big GX-1050 series logos.
Coming to the connectors, there are two 8-pin CPU connectors, four PCI-e 8-pin connectors (inc. 2 CPU), an ATX 24-pin (14+10 pin) ATX connector, and four 6-pin connectors for peripherals. There’s also a single 16-pin connector.
The cables within the packaging pouch include the ATX 20+4 pin, two 4+4 pin CPU connectors, a single 16-pin PCIe cable, 3 PCIe 6+2 cables with two single and one dual 6+2 pin stacks, and four IDE cables with SATA/PATA and FDD support.
As for internal, GAMEMAX’s GX-PRO PSUs leverage a direct-connect modular backplate while the internal PCB houses a UP3861-controller DC-DC circuit, an MPS6924-controller synchronous rectification module, an MPS 1213 programmable LLM main control chip, PFC high-voltage filtering capacitor, a second-stage EMI circuit, an AC modular input assembly, and first-stage EMI circuit, a PFC power semiconductor (active) and an independently developed low-loss FPC inductor.
