Over the past eight years, AviaGames has grown from a small garage-based startup to an award-winning publisher with an ever-growing portfolio.
The creator of Bingo Tour, Solitaire Clash, games platform Pocket7Games and more, AviaGames grew significantly during the global pandemic thanks in no small part to Bingo Clash, which became a top five app in Apple’s App Store’s Free App Chart.
Since then, the company has continued to grow its brand with more games launched in the mobile space, most recently adding Solitaire Slam and Solitaire Venture to its lineup.
Through the years
After AviaGames founders Vickie Chen and Ping Wang kickstarted their mobile game mission in 2015, the company officially made its entry into mobile games with the launch of the Pocket7Games platform in 2019.
This led to many players engaging in games with real-money rewards like Bingo Clash, Bingo Tour, Solitaire Clash, and more. By the start of 2022, its library had amassed over 10 million downloads in the US. At that time, the company claimed to have awarded players $714 million in cash prizes across more than one billion tournaments.
The year marked a major milestone for Chen as CEO and for women in the games industry at large before AviaGames continued to grow in 2023, reaching over 300 team members, expanding worldwide, and involving itself in a number of charity initiatives.
Fast forward
However, 2024 hasn’t been quite so exceptional for the firm, as the year began with a lost patent infringement case costing $42.9 million. The lawsuit was brought forward by AviaGames’ rival Skillz, which has its own game competition platform and accused the firm of knowingly using its patent without permission.
Despite this financial hit and bot allegations against AviaGames, the platform has continued to expand this year with two new solitaire games designed to bring about “more dynamic gameplay”.
“Avia started from humble beginnings and with our boundless passion and aspiration, I’m proud to say we’ve surpassed several milestones over the last eight years, including unprecedented player growth,” said Chen.
“I’m grateful to everyone who has been an integral part of our story as we’ve learned to adapt and use our experiences to shape the company’s culture. Our success is a testament to perseverance and the importance of staying true to our values, even in adversity.”
