Batman Arkham Knight and embarrassing ports are terms that seem to go hand in hand, as those who played the PC version of the game at launch know well, but it seems like the final entry in the series by Rocksteady reached a new low with the recently released Nintendo Switch port.
As shown in a new video shared by Digital Foundry’s Oliver Mackenzie, the Switch port of the game is extremely bad. Even with severely downgraded visuals, the game struggles to run decently on the console, suffering from massive stutters a few seconds long when the game runs at a staggering zero frames per second. The game is plagued by game-breaking glitches as well.
Arkham Knight on Switch is unacceptable. Terrible performance, poor visual quality, and game-breaking glitches. I’ll have a video on it and the other Arkham ports next week. pic.twitter.com/PYcB1fsXB1

It is a shame the Nintendo Switch port of Batman Arkham Knight was released in such a state, as the game definitely deserves better. While, in my opinion, not on the same level as the previous entries in the series, the game is still one of the best games starring the Dark Knight, and a game that can look gorgeous on PC at max settings and a few mods even years after release.
Batman Arkham Knight is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
