Apple has applied for approval of a new battery with the designation A2389 in China and Denmark, which may signal that a new model of MacBook Air is on the way.
According to MacRumors, the new battery has a capacity of 49.9Wh, which is the same as the battery used in the current model of MacBook Air. But that doesn’t mean the battery life will be the same; it all depends on what kind of processor is used. Apple has announced that it will begin the transition to its own Apple Silicon processors in the autumn.
Currently, the maximum battery life in the MacBook Air is 12 hours, but if Apple chooses to replace the Intel processor, we will probably see significantly longer life than that.
