Apple updated its iPhone lineup in September 2019, and one of the results of this reshuffle was the discontinuation of the beloved iPhone XS. The company no longer sells this model, having replaced it with the iPhone 11 Pro and, more recently, 12 Pro. If budget allows, you could do a lot worse than buying the latest model.
However, the iPhone XS is still on sale at other vendors and networks, and the launch of the 12-series handsets means you can find excellent deals. You could spend a few hours scouring dozens of retailers to find the best price available in the sales, but our experts have done the hard work to find the best contracts and SIM-free offers to suit you.
Bear in mind that Black Friday is approaching: it takes place on 27 November this year, and is sure to see good savings on Apple products. In fact, the bargains are already starting to appear, and we round up the best early Black Friday offers below.
The iPhone XS has a 5.8in display, water resistance, a still-powerful A12 Bionic chip, a superb camera and good battery life. It’s available in gold, silver and Space Grey. iPhone XS price
Two years on from launch, the iPhone XS remains a premium handset, and you should expect a price tag to match. Still, it’s been around for a while now, so a decent discount would be appropriate.
When it came out the XS cost £999/$999 for the 64GB model, £1,149/$1,149 for the 256GB model and £1,349/$1,349 for 512GB when bought SIM-free. If your vendor of choice doesn’t knock several hundred off that to acknowledge the passage of time, get the new iPhone 12 Pro instead.
