Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is coming day one to Xbox Game Pass later this year, according to a new Game Pass mobile app notification that was pushed to users today.
As reported by multiple users, including The Verge’s Tom Warren, the notification essentially confirms that the next entry in the series, and the first one to be released after Activision Blizzard was acquired by Microsoft, will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers on day one. According to some users, clicking on the notification links to a currently unavailable web page on the Xbox official website dated today, so an official announcement will be coming in the next few hours.
As it was being rumored that having Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and future entries in the series on Xbox Game Pass on day one would lead to some changes to the service, it will be interesting to see if a new subscription tier is introduced to include the series or any other high-profile game launching in the future.
Very little is currently known about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. A recent teaser trailer seems to hint at a Gulf War setting, which will likely be the focus of today’s live-action trailer. A full reveal of the game will be coming in a dedicated presentation airing after this year’s Xbox Games Showcase, set for June 9th.
