Today, NVIDIA shared various announcements ahead of next week’s Game Developers Conference. To begin with, one of the most anticipated games slated in 2024, Ubisoft Massive’s Star Wars Outlaws, will feature NVIDIA DLSS 3 integration, ray traced effects, and Reflex. The game is also the highlight of this GeForce NOW Thursday, as it will also be playable via NVIDIA’s cloud platform, with Ultimate subscribers able to take advantage of all the aforementioned technologies.
Another long-awaited game scheduled to launch on August 20, the open world action RPG Black Myth: Wukong, will support NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 (Ray Reconstruction) and ‘full ray tracing’, which should mean essentially path tracing akin to Cyberpunk 2077 or Alan Wake 2.
The same features are also coming to the popular live service game NARAKA: BLADEPOINT. Developer 24 Entertainment is expected to add full ray tracing soon, starting with three areas that are accessible through both PVP and PVE modes, with further areas receiving the same upgrade over time.
NVIDIA then said The First Berserker: Khazan, the upcoming single player action RPG based in the Dungeon and Fighter universe, will support DLSS 3 and Reflex when it launches.
Today, NVIDIA also released an upgrade for Portal with RTX, adding DLSS 3.5 (Ray Reconstruction) and RTX IO. Ray Reconstruction improves the fidelity of ray tracing as well as the responsiveness of the dynamic light effects. As for RTX IO, NVIDIA says texture load timeshare is reduced by up to 5X, and the disk drive footprint of Portal with RTX is also reduced by 37%.
We also got the launch date for Diablo IV’s ray tracing update, which is now set to release on March 26. Armor, water, windows, and other suitably reflective surfaces will now feature accurate, realistic ray-traced reflections and ray-traced transparent reflections. The game’s shadows will also be enhanced with ray tracing, adding extra detail to all scenes.
Sengoku Dynasty is out now in early access with DLSS 3, while Outcast: A New Beginning will be released tomorrow with DLSS 2 and DLAA. Lastly, NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 (Ray Reconstruction) is coming soon to the RTX Remix Open Beta.
