When Dec. 10 comes, gamers everywhere will be able to ditch 2020 and enter the (fictional) future, thanks to the arrival of Cyberpunk 2077.
Count us in. We are ready to kick butt in the dystopian world of Night City. But to jump into the future, you’ll need the right hardware. The developer has finally revealed the minimum and recommended specs for running Cyberpunk 2077 on a Windows PC.
But First, Why the Cyberpunk 2077 hype?
The title comes from the studio behind The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which released in 2015 and quickly became one of the greatest PC games of all time. Now the developer CD Projekt Red is taking on the science-fiction genre in another epic adventure set in the future.
Cyberpunk 2077 is shaping up to be the most cutting-edge open world title ever made. CD Projekt Red says it created a “living, breathing” virtual city in the game populated by a huge cast of characters and organizations interwoven all together. In fact, the game is so big, the studio delayed Cyberpunk 2077’s launch date twice (ahem, make that three times), citing the need to iron out all the mechanics.
The game is set in a dystopian world with robots and mega corporations. You’ll get to play as a mercenary, which you can customize and level up with different skills, such as hacking and combat techniques. You’ll then obtain quests by interacting with characters through various dialogue options. What path you’ll take will ultimately determine the eventual game’s ending, and what kind of badass you become.
Another reason why Cyberpunk 2077 is getting so much hype? Keanu Reeves, has a starring role as the fictional character Johnny Silverhand.
Where Can I Buy Cyberpunk 2077?
You can already pre-purchase the $59.99 game on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Gog.com. Amazon has also been offering discounts on the title.
For consoles, Cyberpunk 2077 is available for pre-order on the PS4 and Xbox One. CD Projekt Red plans on selling physical copies of the game at retailers such as Best Buy and GameStop. The PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game should also work on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, according to CD Projekt Red.
