King’s flagship Candy Crush Saga has launched on alternative app stores today, August 14th, as the match-3 maker’s partnership with Flexion bears fruit.
The pair teamed up in June this year to distribute King’s sugary success to more stores and expand its potential reach, casting an even wider net in the search for new players.
Through King and Flexion’s partnership, Candy Crush has now released on Huawei’s App Gallery, the Samsung Galaxy Store, Xiaomi GetApps and on ONE store.
The power of a partnership
While Candy Crush is famously no slouch in the downloads department with over three billion to date, an extra dose of game distribution can always help a famous game grow even further.
For Flexion, the King partnership landed as part of a continued move from strength to strength; the distributor recorded its best financials in late 2023 with a 64% quarter-on-quarter revenue climb and saw an even stronger start to 2024.
“We are delighted that King chose Flexion, and it’s an honour to take one of the world’s most successful mobile games to the alternative app stores,” Flexion CEO Jens Lauritzson said.
“Our approach provides King with an easy, robust and low-risk path to accessing the alternative app stores while helping them to add revenue and audiences for their phenomenally successful game.”
