Games developer Studio555 has raised €4 million ($4.6m) in a seed funding round to develop a game-like interior design app.
As reported by VentureBeat, the studio plans to launch its interior design app next year, using its newly secured funds for product development and team expansion.
The startup said the app blends interior design with game and social app elements, letting users create and design personal spaces without technical skills.
Studio555 was founded by CEO Joel Roos, CTO Stina Larsson, and CPO Axel Ullberger, with Larsson and Ullberger previously working on Candy Crush Saga at King.
“Reimgaining interior design”
HOF Capital and Failup Ventures led the round, joined by Small Giant’s Timo Soininen, Supercell’s Mikko Kodisoja, and King’s Riccardo Zacconi.
“At Studio555, we’re reimagining interior design as something anyone can explore: open-ended, playful, and personal,” said Studio555 CEO and co-founder Joel Roos.
“We’re building an experience we always wished existed: a space where creativity is hands-on, social, and free from rigid rules. This funding is a major step forward in setting an entirely new category for creative expression.”
