A major refresh of Dell’s commercial laptops is here. The PC vendor today is introducing new Windows 10 products under the Latitude and Precision line for business workers looking for portability, power, and long battery life.
The New Latitude Series
The refresh starts with the new Latitude laptops, which go on sale today on the company’s website and through other distributors. Dell is finally going to start selling the Latitude 9510, which the company previewed in January at CES. (Hit the link for our first look at it.)

The Latitude 9510, which starts at $1,899, is designed to be Dell’s smallest and lightest 15-inch business laptop, weighing in at only 3.1 pounds. A big selling point is how the product is designed for optimal video conferencing. You’re getting four noise-cancelling microphones, which can remove background sounds during your video sessions, and powerful speakerphones to pick up your voice from afar.
Another major feature is the optional 4G or 5G modem for cellular connectivity. In terms of battery life, you can eke out as many 34 hours on a single charge, Dell says, but that’s only if you upgrade to a six-cell 88WHr battery, up from the standard four-cell 52WHr one.

Buyers can also get the Latitude 9510 as a laptop convertible with a 360-degree hinge, allowing you to flip it into a touch-screen tablet. However, at 3.3 pounds, the 2-in-1 version weighs a little more than the clamshell 9510.

In addition, the product has a smaller sibling in the Latitude 9410, which comes with a 14-inch screen. The product is actually a laptop convertible with a 360-degree hinge. Other differences include a Dell-rated 27-hour battery life with a six-cell battery, slightly less carry weight (it’s 3 pounds), and cellular-connectivity options that are limited to 4G. It’ll go on sale for $1,799.

Dell is launching the laptops alongside the 14-inch Latitude 7410 and 13.3-inch Latitude 7310, which will go on sale at the lower price of $1,499. Both models can be bought as a laptop or a 2-in-1 convertible. The Latitude 7410, in particular, features the company’s first low-power 4K screen that emits minimal levels of blue light.

The company is also introducing a Windows 10 tablet called the Latitude 7210, which will start at $999. You can buy the 12.3-inch product with a keyboard to turn it into a laptop.

All the models mentioned above are built with aluminum or carbon fiber casing and can be configured with Intel’s 10th generation Core vPro processors. To fill out the rest of the Latitude line, Dell also plans on refreshing its 5000 and 3000 series models. So if you’re looking for lower price points, you should check them out once more details become available.
Precision Series
For business workers who want more computing power, the Precision line offers the portability of a laptop and the processing capabilities of a desktop PC.
This year’s models, the 15-inch Precision 5550 and the 17-inch 5750, are thinner and lighter than past ones, according to Dell. The result has made them look a lot more like Dell’s XPS laptop series, which have received rave reviews.
The company also managed to fit a near-borderless screen on each device, for a 92 and 94 percent screen-to-body ratio, respectively. Buyers can choose to stick with an HD display or upgrade to a 4K panel.

Still, the laptops are pretty hefty. The Precision 5550 weighs in at 4.06 pounds, while the Precision 5750 comes in at 4.7 pounds. Dell refrained from estimating their battery life.

That said, you can outfit them with serious specs, including Intel 10th-generation Core i9 vPro processors or even Intel Xeon chips. The Precision 5750 can also be upgraded to an Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 card. The Precision 5550 will go on sale May 28, starting at $1,999. The Precision 5750 will arrive on June 9, at $2,399 and up.
For even more computing power, you can check out the larger 15-inch Precision 7550 and 17-inch Precision 7750. They’ll arrive on May 28, sporting a sleeker and more compact design than before. (According to Dell, they’re about 20 percent smaller and 6 percent lighter than older models.) But they’re still quite heavy, at 5.5 pounds and 6.9 pounds, respectively.

You’ll also be able to configure them with Intel’s 10th-generation Core vPro processors, or the even more powerful Intel Xeon chips. There’s also the option to add an Nvidia Quadro RTX 5000 graphics card.

The 15-inch Precision 7550 will start at $1,789, while the 17-inch Precision 7750 will go for $1,999 and up.
For buyers looking for a cheaper Precision model, Dell has also refreshed the 3000 series, with the new models arriving today. The starting prices for Precision 3550 and 3551 will be $939 and $1,049, but don’t expect as much processing power. The laptops only come with Intel integrated graphics or a lower-power Nvidia Quadro P520 or P620 graphics card, making them less ideal for running 3D design programs.

Next month, the company also plans on launching the Precision 3440 and Precision 3640, which will start at $959 and $1,039, respectively.
