Grammy-nominated singer and actress Demi Lovato has joined PlanetPlay‘s Make Green Tuesday Moves (MGTM) campaign to unite gamers and music fans for real-world environmental action.
Fans can access exclusive Demi Lovato avatars in select games this December. All proceeds will go towards supporting reforestation, renewable energy, and ocean conservation through PlanetPlay’s eco-donate platform.
Lovato stars in titles like Subway Surfers, Avakin Life, Peridot and more, with proceeds supporting projects like Kenya’s clean cookstove initiative and New Zealand’s WAI Wanaka water conservation project.
Google Play is supporting the movement with a dedicated page on the Android store. PlanetPlay’s MGTM has already raised over $2.2 million for sustainability through eco-conscious gaming.
Protecting the planet
“Just like in music where collaborations come together to create something amazing, I’m excited to share how gaming and protecting our planet are coming together in a pretty cool way,” said Lovato.
“On the first Tuesday of every month, games like Peridot, Subway Surfers, Love and Pies, and Avakin Life are featuring in-game items that support eco projects. So while you’re playing games, you’re also doing something great for Mother Earth.”
PlanetPlay CEO Rhea Loucas added: “Demi Lovato’s passion for music, gaming and the environment is infectious. We’re thrilled to have her on board for December’s Make Green Tuesday Moves and to see the games community continue to drive positive environmental change.”
