Elias Toufexis, the actor doing the voice acting and performance capture for Adam Jensen in the Deus Ex series, hasn’t been approached to reprise his role.
That’s what the actor said on Twitter recently after teasing some of his upcoming projects. “Glad you’re busy as ever, but we [were] hoping one of those redacted titles is a new Deus Ex”, one fan replied. In his reply to this tweet, Toufexis said that he’s happy to be busy with his upcoming projects, but he wishes he was even more busy on a new Deus Ex installment.
“Yeah, as happy as I am to be busy, I wish I was even more busy on a new Deus Ex”, the actor tweeted. “I am not under any NDA for Deus Ex because no one has called me about it. Truly.”

As said, the Canadian actor portrayed Adam Jensen in Eidos Montreal’s most recent installments – 2011’s Deus Ex Human Revolution and 2016’s Mankind Divided for PC and consoles. As covered last year, Embracer purchased Square Enix’s Western AAA studios, including Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics, and we might see a return of the popular franchise.
“We don’t know, really, what to expect from an Embracer-owned, Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal”, journalist Jeff Grubb said last year. “It’s early, the rumblings I’ve heard… they want to get right back into [Deus Ex]. They want to do what Cyberpunk 2077 couldn’t, that’s the word going around. I mean, we’ll see if that happens. It’s so early, who knows what that will turn into, but that was probably not even… there was no possibility of that conversation to even begin under Square Enix, right?”
Late last year, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier wrote that Eidos Montreal is in the early stages of developing a new Deus Ex title in addition to working on a new IP.
We’ll update you as soon as we learn more about the popular first-person RPG series. For now, stay tuned.
