Late yesterday, Microsoft kicked off a promotion that is sending out gift cards via email for the Microsoft Store to seemingly random users. Did you get one?
The promotion was spotted by the Wario64 Twitter account and later confirmed as real by the Microsoft Store Twitter account according to The Verge. The gifted gift cards can be worth anywhere from $10 to $100, but the only way to find out if you got one is to check your email. Perhaps you have more than one email address Microsoft knows about, but you always forget to check it? Check that one, too!
The Microsoft Store is running a number of deals at the moment to use the gift card towards. They include up to $200 off a Surface Laptop Go, $400 off the Surface Pro 7, $500 off gaming PCs, and $20 off Kingston HyperX Xbox and PC accessories to name but a few. With the announcement of Microsoft offering free anime with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you could put a free gift card towards paying for the subscription, too.
Some people have tweeted they thought it was a marketing email, while others are now checking accounts they otherwise wouldn’t. For example, the email address they associated with Xbox Live years ago and then forgot about.
