Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree officially launches this Friday, June 21, though North American fans can actually start playing Thursday afternoon. If you haven’t preordered your copy of the expansion yet, check out our Shadow of the Erdtree buying guide, which includes deals for PC players. While you wait, you should check out Amazon’s current batch of deals on numerous Elden Ring books, including substantial discounts on Elden Ring’s pair of official art books.
You’ll find the Elden Ring: Official Art Book Volume 1 on sale for $44 (down from $60). The 432-page hardcover book includes art from the game’s opening cinematic, concept art, and images of both the game’s open world and its myriad dungeons. For even more gorgeous visuals, the Elden Ring: Official Art Book Volume 2 is on sale for $36, compiling artwork of enemies, weapons, and various items. These books are excellent companions for Elden Ring, as they dive deep into the lore of From Software’s wonderfully rendered open world that is teeming with secrets.
To play Shadow of the Erdtree, you’ll need to have beaten Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, two of Elden Ring’s many challenging bosses. Doing so isn’t easy, and if you’re one of the many players yet to accomplish those feats, you might want to consider picking up the Elden Ring Official Strategy Guide Volume 1 and Volume 2. Each hardcover volume is discounted to $45 (down from $50), and together the “Books of Knowledge” offer over 1,000 pages of tips and tricks to keep you alive in The Lands Between.
Volume 1, The Lands Between, provides a thorough look at the sprawling map, the NPCs, and the game’s many mechanics. Volume 2, Shards of the Shattering, takes an in-depth look at combat, the many enemies you’ll encounter, and armaments. Even if you’ve already finished the base game, these reference books, and especially Volume 2, may still teach you some things about Elden Ring that could help you in your journey through Shadow of the Erdtree. These are well-made books that look great as display pieces, too.
For a humorous story set in The Lands Between, the ongoing Elden Ring manga is definitely worth checking out. Starring Aseo the Tarnished, Elden Ring: The Road to the Erdtree is a fun read that is well-written and illustrated. The first three volumes are available now, and the next entry is up for preorder. The Road to the Erdtree paperbacks retail for $13, while the Kindle ebook versions are $7 each.
