The upcoming Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC could very well launch early next year on February 5, 2024.
In addition, it is rumored that the expansion for FromSoftware’s hit title will be shown off at The Game Awards 2023 on December 7. This info comes from unverified sources from Elden Ring YouTuber ‘Ziostorm’. “Unverified sources are telling me that Elden Ring DLC is planned to be shown at The Game Awards with a release date of February 5th, 2024”, the YouTuber tweeted some hours ago. “These sources have shown signs of insight, but nothing concrete. Consider this just a rumor for now.”
As noted by the Elden Ring YouTuber, the information above should be taken with a fair pinch of salt as his sources are unverified. Nonetheless, we thought it would be interesting to share this ‘info’. In a follow-up tweet, ‘Ziostorm’ tweeted that this information was shared before The Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley tweeted that he had visited Elden Ring developer FromSoftware last month.
For context, this was shared with me before Geoff Keighley posted that he’d visited FromSoftware and that he’d gone to Japan to finalize plans for TGA.

The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion was officially announced back in February of this year, but recent rumors suggest that the DLC won’t be released before April 2024. Elden Ring was released for PC and consoles in 2022. Here’s what we wrote about FromSoftware’s masterpiece in our launch review:
I tried hard to find any faults in Elden Ring, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t find any outside of some technical issues that the developers could fix via patches. I firmly believe that perfection doesn’t exist and that it is always possible to improve, but I really couldn’t think of anything that Elden Ring could have done better. As such, the game wholly deserves a perfect score, an honor I would have given only to a couple of other modern games, not only for its extremely high quality but also for what it accomplished with its open world and for how it will surely influence video games as a whole in the future.
The Game Awards 2023 will take place on December 7th in the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
