Fortnite maker Epic Games has recognised Expa Game Business Co-operative and Digi & Game Center as Finland’s first Unreal Authorised Training Centres (UATC).
The recognition is in collaboration with virtual production company Fireframe Studios, co-founded by former Supercell game lead and co-founder Mikko Kodisoja.
As a UATC, it is expanding training to professionals in fields like film, architecture, automotive, healthcare, and education to leverage Unreal Engine’s potential across various industries.
By offering both local and online training options, Expa and Digi & Game Center aim to make Unreal Engine education accessible to a global audience.
A step forward
Since becoming the official IGDA Finland Jyväskylä Hub in 2013, Expa said its foundation has fostered a collaborative and creative environment, which it aims to build on following its recognition as an Unreal training centre.
“This recognition is a significant step for Finland’s creative industries,” said Expa vice chairman Tuomas Roininen.
“Unreal Engine has applications far beyond gaming, and this recognition reflects its growing influence in fields like film, education, and architecture. The training offered here aims to enable professionals to fully leverage its potential.”
