Epic Games is introducing a new way to experience Fortnite that is focused on peaceful interaction with other players. It’s called Fortnite Party Worlds, and each location counts as a non-threatening social space “for players to hang out, play fun mini-games, and make new friends.”
For the launch this week, two Party Worlds have been developed with the help of creators fivewalnut and TreyJTH. Fivewalnut’s social space is called Walnut World (Island code: 9705-9549-4193) and takes the form of an amusement park focused on hanging out with friends. On the other hand, TreyJTH’s social space is called Late Night Lounge (Island code: 8868-0043-1912) and places the focus on “a friendly and frivolous after hours adventure.”
Epic explains that Party Worlds are different to Hubs because they are simply places to socialize and relax without links being available to other islands. Meanwhile, Hubs are used as a discovery tool for islands and content.
The good news is, if you don’t like Walnut World or Late Night Lounge, Fortnite players can create their own Party Worlds. There’s a few guidelines to follow, though. Each Party World should not be threatening and no combat or damage is allowed to occur. The location design should encourage social interaction while at the same time having “a high focus on self-expression through emotes, sprays, outfit changes, or other mechanics.”
New Fortnite Party Worlds can be submitted using the Fortnite Discovery Submission form and the tag “Party World.” As well as the guidelines mentioned above, there’s a page of content rules to follow before submitting.
