Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast SVP of digital strategy and licensing Eugene Evans has left the company after nearly seven years with the firm.
In a LinkedIn post, Evans said he did not have any immediate plans to share about his own future.
PocketGamer.biz has reached out to Wizards of the Coast for comment but did not receive a response in time for publication.
Evans has played a key role in the entertainment company’s gaming ambitions. The firm has been building up its own in-house development studios, while it has also licensed out its top IP for successful titles like Scopely’s Monopoly Go and Larian’s Baldur’s Gate 3.
“Optimistic about the future”
“My seven-year journey at Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro came to a close last week, and I find myself filled with immense gratitude,” said Evans.
“It has been a true privilege to contribute to the legacy of such iconic brands, from the enchanting worlds of Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering to the timeless appeal of Monopoly and beyond.
“Hasbro’s remarkable portfolio has offered a unique and enriching experience, and I’m genuinely excited for the innovative games I know my licensing team will bring to fruition in the coming years.
“While I don’t have immediate plans to share, I remain optimistic about the future of the video game market. Despite current challenges, I firmly believe in its long-term growth and vitality. As always, I am committed to seeking opportunities where I can make a meaningful impact. I will be at GDC and look forward to many interesting conversations.”
