A new version of the amazing Final Fantasy IX Moguri Mod is now available for download, introducing additional visual improvements to the classic JRPG by Square Enix.
The new 9.0 version, which can be installed via the latest version of the Memoria patcher, introduces significant visual improvements to field backgrounds, a full rework of battle backgrounds, a redrawing of many layer edges, improvements for most lights, animated textures upscale on monster and NPCs, some reworked FMVs and many visual bug fixes. In addition, by installing Memoria, it is possible to enjoy a lot of other improvements, such as 60FPS and more in and out of combat, PSX battle interface, new combat modes, including a dynamic mode that makes battles way faster and slightly more challenging, and much more.
Playing Final Fantasy IX on PC with the Moguri Mod is definitely the way to go to enjoy one of the best entries in the series at its best, although this could change in the future with the rumored remake that is said to be in development. According to multiple reports, the remake is going to be extremely faithful to the original, with a lower budget compared to the Final Fantasy VII remake project.
Final Fantasy IX is now available on all current gaming platforms, including smart devices. The Moguri Mod, however, is only compatible with the PC version.
