Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the soon-to-be-released new open-world game by Ubisoft Massive, is going to show how good AMD FSR 3 frame generation can be, as its implementation in the game is the best yet.
A new tech analysis of the game by German publication Computer Base highlights how AMD FSR 3 frame generation works much better in the new game by Ubisoft compared to its earlier implementations in Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum. The implementation is so good that it is hardly distinguishable, according to the analysis. As AMD’s tech can be used on any GPU, all PC players will be able to take advantage of it.
The Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora by Computer Base also goes over the game’s ray tracing features, highlighting how it uses a UE5 Lumen-like approach with a software-based solution, as ray tracing can be enabled even on GPUs that do not support it like the GTX 1080. Ray tracing also cannot be turned off, and the different settings do not impact quality too much. When it comes to performance, NVIDIA’s GPUs still have the upper hand, as the RTX 4080 performs better than the RX 7900 XTX at all settings.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora launches on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and on Amazon Luna service. You can learn more about some of the game’s technical features in our interview.
